Starting 2010 with a New Look!

What a way to kick off the new year!  As you can see, I’m starting 2010 with a whole new look.  With my new-and-improved site you’ll find it easier to navigate and you’ll see all the cool new stuff that’s in the works.  You’ll also learn a little bit about my background, and see how far I’ve come since the days when I stood in line for government surplus food, as a young welfare mom.  Check back often and you’ll be up-to-date with everything that’s going on with me and my current book project.  You can also post comments.  I love reading what you have to say.  I especially love to know when I’ve touched someone in a special way, like the reader who recently named me her “person of the year” because of the pleasure my books have brought her.  It inspires me on a daily basis.  But if I don’t answer every comment, please understand it’s only because I know you’d rather have the next book that much sooner, and I can’t be in two places at once.

Would that I could!

Do you believe in serendipity?  I sure do, especially after my fortuitous talk a short while ago with a lovely and spirited lady (and newly appointed soul sister) named Susan Stoltz, who interviewed me for her online magazine “Women Out West.”  We chatted over the phone about all manner of things, including our “practice” husbands and our similar work habits (We’re both early risers and like to start our oh-dark-in-the-morning with a cup of tea and a lighted candle—I call it my “Jane Austen moment.”)  In the course of our conversation I told her I was looking to revamp my website, and she said she had just the woman for the job, Web guru Deborah Kunzie, of Garlic D’zign.  Deborah agreed to do it, so I excitedly signed on.

You can read Susan’s article about me and her stellar review of my novel, ONCE IN A BLUE MOON, by logging onto  http://susanrstoltz.com/content/eileengoudge/.

I’m currently at work on my most exciting project yet, THE REPLACEMENT WIFE, due out this year.  I’ll be telling you more about it in the months to come.  Right now I’m writing the second draft,  while holed up at vacation home in South Florida on loan from dear friends of mine, where thanks to said friends and my extremely understanding husband,  I have the greatest gift of all: the chance to  work uninterrupted.  Weather hasn’t been too great, but I’m indoors most of the time, so it’s not an issue.  If you were to see me on the return flight sporting a suspicious tan, you’d know I didn’t get the job done!

Look for me, too, on Facebook and Twitter.  That way we can keep in touch and you’ll get daily updates.  I would love to welcome you into my extended e-family!

Wishing you and yours a 2010 filled with serendipity.
